Wh did I buy a barchetta? Well one might think Italian cars only gives you trouble. Not true in fact the barchetta is quite a trouble free car. Apart from regular scheduled maintenance I have had no cost whatsoever unill now. A few problems occured but they were all “cured” under warranty (the all to well known variator and heatshield). My barchetta was bought in August 1996 by me as a new car. Before the barchetta I had a few other Fiats but the barchetta is my first spider. Under the button barchetta info on the main index you’ll find an explanation why our barchetta is a spider and not a cabrio...

Ofcourse there was only one colour for me it had to be a RED one. But it seems that there may be people outthere with different opinions. There’s lot’s of barchetta fanatics about, throughout the whole of Europe, Japan, Argentina and there’s even some in the Middle East. When you go the the links page you’ll find a link to Marc’s site who has all known barchetta clubs on his site.
On the bottom of this page you’ll find a link to the international barchetta mailinglist hosted by Yahoogroups where you can talk about any kind of barchetta related topic. Okay back to my barchetta...

What kind of things can I expect in the near future? I will have to replace my softtop the backscreen has 2 little cracks in it and 2 thin spaces just above the windows. This is a common thing not only for a barchetta but for almost every spider since a vinyl softtop should last about 3 years and mine is already 5 years so... I’m thinking of having a mohait one fitted this winter. If so you’ll find pictures of it on the site soon. Further more I’m thinking of switching to alloys because the standard rims have started to rust (again), problem is that I only like the standard rims on the barchetta all other rims are less beautiful in my opinion. So if and when there will be alloys installed one thing is for sure they will be original barchetta alloys and no aftermarket product.
